Send your first invoice

If you haven't already, add the customer under Contacts. Then go to Invoices → New invoice, add your lines and, if you're VAT registered, the VAT for each one.

Choose Save and send to email the invoice as a PDF, with a link where your customer can view it online. If the invoice becomes overdue, reminders go out automatically. You don't need to chase it yourself.

Record a payment against the invoice yourself, or let your bank feed match it for you once the money arrives. Either way, the invoice's status updates to reflect what's actually been paid.
