What Radar tells you
Open Radar in the sidebar. Every item is grouped by how much it needs you (Urgent, Needs attention or
For information), with a title, a short explanation, and a link straight to where you fix it. Radar checks your
numbers every night, and again whenever you open the page if it's been more than an hour since the last check;
Refresh reruns it on the spot.
The thirteen rules
- Overdue invoice, a sent invoice past its due date. Needs attention up to 30 days overdue, urgent beyond that.
- Unexplained transactions, five or more unexplained bank rows needs attention; twenty or more is urgent.
- VAT purchase without a receipt, an expense or bill with VAT and no attachment, in a VAT period that's still
open. HMRC can refuse the VAT reclaimed without one.
- Tax deadline, a Self Assessment or VAT event with a real amount, due within 30 days (urgent inside 7).
- Set aside for tax, your estimated tax and VAT owed is more than what your business accounts hold.
- Cash flow dip, your three-month forecast is expected to go below zero. Always urgent.
- Unusual spend, a category is up more than 150% on its average of the last three months, and over £100.
- Rent arrears, a tenancy is behind on rent.
- Bank connection needs attention, a connection has expired, needs reconfirming, or its consent runs out
within 10 days. Always urgent.
- HMRC connection needs attention, your HMRC connection has expired or errored, or covers Income Tax only
when you're VAT-registered.
- VAT return due, an open VAT return whose period has ended. Needs attention, urgent within 7 days of the
deadline or once it's passed.
- Estimate gone quiet, a sent estimate with no reply for two weeks.
- Receipts waiting, three or more captured receipts Smart Capture has read but nobody has confirmed yet.
Only the rules for the modules you use apply; there's no VAT rule without VAT registration, no rent rule without
Properties, and so on.
Snooze or dismiss
Snooze 7 days hides an item until then; it comes back automatically if the underlying problem is still there
when the snooze ends. Dismiss hides it for good; it won't reappear for that same invoice, period or item, even
after the next check. Use dismiss for anything you've decided not to act on; use snooze for anything you'll get to
soon.
The weekly digest
Radar can also email you a summary every Monday at 8am: how many items are urgent and need attention, up to ten
of them, and where you stand (bank balance, what's owed to you, what you owe, and what to set aside for tax). It's
opt-in, per person, in Settings → Profile → Notifications; it only goes to organisations with an active plan or
trial, and only when there's something to say.
Amounts in Radar are estimates where the real figure isn't final yet (for instance, a VAT return's box 5 before the
period ends), the same way they appear elsewhere in BusyBee Hub.
